SURPRISE PARTY AT BORAM

On 16 October 1943, B-25C Mitchell bombers of the 499th Bomb Squadron, 3345th Bomb Group strafed and parafragged the Japanese-held airfield at the Wewak-Boram complex. Victor Tatelman, piloting B-25C Dirty Dora, targeted the Ki-61 Tonys, Ki-48 Lilys, Ki-43 Oscars, Ki-21 Sallys, Ki-49 Helens, Ki-46 Dinahs, Ki-57 Sonyas, and A6M Zeros parked on the field.
